The race has changed a little this year as the start/finish line has been moved to the City Center Plaza (58 North Main Street). Because of this change a portion of the East Side of Main Street will be closed for Parade viewing until 9:45 a.m. prior to the parade.
Parade safety reminder
For the safety and concern of Peach Days Parade spectators and participants, all entries handing out any items along the parade route will be placed at the end of the parade in the nonmotorized section.
No vehicles and/or animals will be allowed in the non-motorized section. In other words, in order to distribute any items, you must be able to carry and distribute the items in human-powered wagon/cart/bicycle, etc., and you must distribute those items at the end of the parade, following all entries with motorized vehicles and animals. There are no exceptions to this rule.
If you have any questions please call the Chamber office at 435-723-3931.
Make plans for window displays
Visitors to Peach Days look forward to the downtown window displays. All groups, individuals, and businesses interested in creating a window display are encouraged to contact Main Street businesses directly to get permission and work out any details.

Please contact the Chamber of Commerce at 723-3931 or Joan Hammer at 734-3315 with questions.
Junior Pageant beckons five-year-olds
The 58th annual Junior Peach Queen Pageant, sponsored by Ladies Community Club, is seeking five-year-old girls from the Box Elder High School area to enter this year's event on September 7. The theme is "Simple Traditions." The pageant will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Box Elder Middle School's auditorium. A $2 donation will be accepted at the door.
The deadline for applications is September 1 and includes a $20 entry fee. Applications are available in this issue of the Box Elder News Journal or at the Chamber of Commerce office. They must be mailed to Jewell Johnson, 934 East 200 North, Brigham City UT 84302.
Practice will be held Tuesday, September 6, at 6 p.m. at the middle school. Each contestant will be introduced at the pageant and will perform a song with the other girls during the program. They will learn the song on Tuesday at practice.
Selection of the royalty is done by random drawing. Sunday dress is encouraged. Salt Aire Productions will videotape the pageant and DVDs can be pre-ordered at the practice or the pageant.
All girls will ride on the Bicentennial Train in the Junior Parade on September 9 and the Peach Days Parade on September 10.
"Celebrate the Tradition" for parade
This year's Peach Days parade "Celebrate the Tradition" will be Saturday, September 10, at 10 a.m.
Parade applications are available at www.peachdays.org so download an application. Applications won't be mailed to previous participants.
Entries are encouraged to follow the theme. Decorated floats will be judged at 9 a.m. with five awards presented: Sweepstakes, Most Peachy (Float that best describes the theme), Best Commercial, Chairman's Choice, and Most Creative/Imaginative.
Since the Peach Days Parade is one of the longest in Utah, space and time are limited. Commercial entries will be limited to one vehicle per entry. Those who want more than one vehicle will need to submit two applications and two entry fees.
Application deadline is August 26. The committee encourages entries with small children to enter the Junior Parade on Friday.
All entries handing out any items will be placed at the end of the parade in the nonmotorized section - no vehicles or animals allowed.
To hand out items, entries must carry and distribute them from a wagon/cart/bicycle, etc., at the end of the parade, after all entries with motorized vehicles and animals, no exceptions.
