Angels for Christmas sign ups Angels For Christmas Applications are now available for children in need this Christmas. Our Angel Trees are sponsored by local neighbors and businesses and it is not a government funded program. It is run by volunteers for Box Elder county residents. Children ages 0-18 (still in high school) will receive three gifts: a wish, a need, and a pair of shoes and socks. Each family will also receive a reading book and a necessities box with items to help in the home. Applications may be picked up at the Department of Workforce Services, Brigham City Food Pantry and Tremonton Food Pantry. An extra gift is available to families who complete applications by November 1. Many Local families and businesses are needed for this effort. Those interested in sponsoring angels please contact USU 435-919-1200, or send an email toangels4christmas@gmail.com There will be trees at the main street Brigham USU, Tremonton USU, and other areas in town to pick up angels. Thursday, Oct. 24 Women in Business meeting set Members of Women in Business will meet at 12 p.m. in the Box Elder County Credit Union basement, 1023 Medical Drive, Brigham City. Friday, Oct. 25 Pregnancy Care Center Bingo fundraiser event set The Pregnancy Care Center will host a Bingo fundraiser event from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Brigham City Community Center, 24 N. 300 West. Tuesday, Oct. 29 Story hour at Depot A children’s story hour will be held at the Historic Brigham City Depot, 833 W. Monday, Oct. 28 Author to speak at book festival event Author Jennifer Nielsen of “Words on Fire” and “The Traitor’s Game,” will speak on “The Power of Words” at the Brigham City Library, 26 E. Wednesday, Oct. 30 Monthly diabetes class set The Brigham City Community hospital will hold its monthly diabetes class from 4 to 7 p.m. in the hospital’s cardiac rehab education room, 950 Medical Drive. Sandy Trierweiler, a hospital pharmacist, will present the discussion on “Diabetes Medications – Questions and Answers.” The class is free and is open to the public. Thursday, Oct. 31 Lunch and dance planned at senior center Members of the Brigham City Senior Center are invited to attend a lunch and dance from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the center, 24 N. 300 West. Music will be performed by Tony Summerhays and The One Man Band. Attendees are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes for a chance to win a prize and participate in a calk walk. For more information, call the center at 435-226-1450. Fine Arts Center Oct. 25: Preschool music time will be held at 9:30 a.m. for children age 2 to 5, accompanied by an adult. The event will include stories, songs and a craft. A $2 donation is encouraged. Improv night will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. for teens age 14-19.
