Peach Queen orientation meeting set The Peach Queen orientation meeting will be held On Thursday, May 16, in the Utah State University – Brigham City auditorium, 989 S. Main Street, from 6 to 7 p.m. Girls wishing to participate in the Peach Queen pageant in September are encouraged to attend. Monday, April 8 Daughters of Utah Pioneers sets meeting The Daughters of Utah Pioneers Locust Camp will hold their monthly meeting at 650 Anderson Drive, Brigham City, at 1:15 p.m. The meeting is open to all members anyone interested in club membership. Tuesday, April 9 Garden Club sets planting The Spade and Hope Garden Club will meet at 1 p.m. at the Alpine Gardens production greenhouse to plant flowerpots and baskets for the summer. Those participating should bring their own containers — if used, they should be clean and dipped in chlorine water to avoid contamination. Wednesday, April 10 Dementia caregiver support group set A dementia caregiver support group will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Brigham City Senior Center, 24 N. 300 West. The group is free and open to the public. Library to host science class for kids The Brigham City Library will host ‘WOW! Wednesday’s Exploring Science’ class for children ages 7 to 11 at the library, 26 E. Forest Street, from 4 to 5 p.m. Children will learn about static electricity and chemical reactions. Thursday, April 11 Women’s Club sets program The Brigham City Women’s Club will meet at 3 p.m. at the Bunderson Center’s library, 641 E. 200 North, Brigham City. Guest speaker Kelly Driscoll, owner of Drewes Floral, will talk about exterior planting. The meeting is open to those interested in the topic or club membership. Suicide Prevention Coalition to hold town hall meeting The Northern Box Elder County Suicide Prevention Coalition will hold their annual mini-town hall meeting at 6 p.m. at the Box Elder County Fairgrounds museum room, 320 N. 1000 West, Tremonton. The meeting will focus on ‘addiction, the unwanted house guest.’ Dee Marble will talk about his personal experiences with addiction. USU Extension continues railroad lecture series Utah State University Extension continues the railroad lecture series, focusing on ‘Building the Rails – the people, key players’ part 2. The free event that’ open to the public will be held at USU – Brigham City, 989 S. Main Street, from 7 to 9 p.m. The lectures will be broadcast to USU – Tremonton, 420 W. 600 North, and USU – Kaysville, 80 E. 725 South. Brigham City Fine Arts Center April 4: The annual spring fling themed, “All Aboard” will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and from 1-3 p.m. Children ages 5-13 will be able to participate in a puppet show, crafts, stories, etc. The cost is $3 per student or $8 per family. Pre-registration can be completed on their website. April 6: The World of Puppetry Museum will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. A Punch ‘n Judy show will be at 2 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are accepted. April 8: A vocal performance will be held at 7 p.m. at the Brigham City Library, 26 E. Forest Street. April 12: Preschool puppetry story time will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. for children ages 3-5-years-old and accompanied by an adult. Story time will include stories, puppets, songs and a craft. A $1 to $2 donation is encouraged. April 13: A paint party will be held at 1 p.m. The cost is $20 and will include paint supplies. Space is limited, call for reservations. The Brigham City Fine Arts Center is located at 58 S. 100 West, Brigham City. For more information or to register for a class, contact the Center at 435-723-84302.
