Library event set The Brigham City Library, 26 E. Forest Street, will host “The American Revolution as a Civil War” as part of its ‘Revisiting the Founding Era’ from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Nathan Revis, Ph.D., will speak on the topic. Thursday, Feb. 7 Homemaker’s set monthly meeting The Brigham City Homemaker’s group will meet at 12:30 p.m. at Gillespie Hall, 122 E. 300 South, Brigham City. The topic will focus on home organization and a table will be set up to swap items to give away to a new home. Babysitting will be available for $2 per child. Guests are invited to attend for $2. Friday, Feb. 8 Bear River City Valentine’s Dance Bear River City will hold it’s annual Valentine’s Dance at the Bear River City LDS Church, 5870 N. 4700 West, at 6 p.m. Valentine’s Dance held at Senior Center The Brigham City Senior Center will host a Valentine’s dance at the Center, 24 N. 300 West, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The event is free of charge and is open to the public. Saturday, Feb. 9 Dutch oven dinner and dance The Box Elder County Sheriff’s Posse will host their annual Dutch oven dinner from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and dancing from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Garland Armory, 72 N. Main Street. For the dinner and dance, the cost is $30 per couple or $15 per person; $5 for children 13 and older; and $3 for children 12 and under. To attend the dance only, the cost is $10 per couple or $5 per person. Tickets are available from any posse member or will be available at the door. Monday, Feb. 11 Daughters of Utah Pioneers set to meet The Daughters of Utah Pioneers Locust Camp will hold their monthly meeting at 1:15 p.m. at 650 Anderson Drive, Brigham City. The meeting is open to all members and anyone interested in joining. Family game night at the Library The Brigham City Public Library, 26 E. Forest Street, will host a “Minute-to-Win-it” family game night sponsored by the Literacy Board from 7 to 8 p.m. The event is family-friendly and is free. Tuesday, Feb. 12 Club to learn about houseplants The Spade and Hope Garden Club will meet at 1 p.m. at Gillespie Hall, 122 E. 300 South, Brigham City. Guest speaker Heidi Tibbits, of Brigham City, will present a program on houseplants. The meeting is open to anyone interested in the topic or club membership. Parenting the Love and Logic way class series set Healthy Relationships Utah will host a Parenting the Love and Logic way class series from 6:20 to 8:20 p.m. at Aldersgate Church, 235 E. 850 South, Brigham City. The class is free and will teach parents how to raise responsible kids, end power struggles, teach responsibility and prevent arguments. Wednesday, Feb. 13 Assembly meeting set An assembly meeting for the Continental Marshall Assembly will be held at 170 S. 1600 East, Tremonton, at 6 p.m. The class will teach about birth certificates and passports and what they mean. Thursday, Feb. 14 Valentine’s Day trip for Seniors Members of the Brigham City Senior Center will take a trip to Salt Lake City to eat at the Old Spaghetti Factory and tour Mrs. Cavanaugh’s Chocolate Factory. Valentine’s Day Dinner Concert Series continues The Dinner Concert Series will be held at the Academy Conference Center, 58 North Main Street, Brigham City, at 6 p.m. Tickets are $40 and includes the dinner and concert. Concert performance will be by The 4 Hims. Tickets are available at Drewes Floral, 28 S. Main Street, Brigham City. Women’s Club meeting The Brigham City Women’s Club will meet at 3 p.m. at the Brigham City Community Center, 24 N. 300 West. Guest speaker Jamie Hadfield will discuss the differences between public school education in Mexico and the United States, with the business meeting to follow. Anyone interested in the program or in club membership is invited to attend. Fine Arts Center Friday, Feb. 8: Preschool puppet story time will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and is for children 3 to 5 years old and must be accompanied by an adult. There is a suggested donation of $1 to $2 per child. Saturday, Feb. 9: A paint party will be at 1 p.m. The cost is $20 and will include supplies, instruction and refreshments. The class is 2 to 3 hours long. Space is limited. To register, call the Center. Open mic night will begin at 7 p.m. The event is family-friendly and a $2 donation is encouraged for participants. Friday, Feb. 15: Music in the City will be at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 7 p.m. Admission is free but donations are encouraged.
