Wednesday, Jan. 23
Career Enhancement Orientation
    A series of events have been scheduled at Dale Young Community High School, 230 West 200 South, Brigham City, from 6 to 8 p.m. The first event will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23, and will be held with support from the Department of Workforce Services and Bridgerland ATC. The theme is “What Workforce Services and Bridgerland can offer you.”
    Two additional events have been planned for March, 27; with the theme of presenting and preparing resumes and cover letters. A job fair will be held on May 1. Each event will be held from 6-8 p.m. at Dale Young Community High School.

Brigham City Winter Ball set
    Brigham City Recreation will host the Winter Ball Transcontinental Celebration from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Academy Conference Center, 58 North Main Street, Brigham City. Tickets are $40 per couple or $20 per person and can be purchased online at bcutah.org/recreation, or in person at the Hervin Bunderson Center, 641 East 200 North, or the Brigham City Senior Center, 24 North 300 West, Brigham City.

Eagle Scout leader recognition dinner
    A free, Eagle Scout recognition dinner will be held for all Box Elder County Eagle Scout adult leaders and their spouses at 6:30 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Brigham City North Stake Center, 620 North 300 East.

Thursday-Saturday, Jan. 24-Jan. 26
Volunteers needed for Point in Time Count
    Volunteers are needed to participate in the Point in Time (homeless) Count to give surveys to people experiencing homelessness. The results influence the homeless services available for the year. To participate, people must attend a volunteer training on Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the USU Brigham City Campus, 989 South Main Street, room A201. The count will take place on Thursday, Jan. 24, from 3:30 to 6 a.m.; Friday, Jan. 25, 4 to 6 a.m.; and Saturday, 4 to 6 a.m. To participate, register at tinyurl.com/ydc6vyfj.

Monday, Jan. 28
Family Fun Fair
    The Brigham City Family Fun Fair will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Box Elder High School, 380 South 600 West, Brigham City.
    Workshops and information booths include: “Can Autism be Prevented?” “Adverse Childhood Experiences,” resiliency, self care, internet safety, family bonding and more.
    Free childcare will be provided while in attendance of workshops. There will be activities and giveaways.

Utah State University Community Education
Utah State University is offering community classes, these are non-credit classes that do not go toward academic degrees, and are open to the public. The winter offerings are as follows*:

Brigham City Campus
*All class will begin Tuesday, Jan. 22, and end Thursday, Feb. 28. For reservations, call Monika at 435-919-1200 or email her at monika.richards@usu.edu.

    Basic computers will be held on Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Miller Bldg. 195 West 1100 South, room 153 The cost is $50 and requires a 2 GB flash drive. The hands-on lessons will cover how to use a computer and Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

    Beginning yoga will be held on Wednesdays from 12 to 1 p.m. at 989 South Main Street, room A104. The cost is $35.

    Mindset fitness will be held on Thursdays from 7 to 8 p.m. 989 South Main Street, room C112. The cost is $35.

    Paper crafts worth framing will be held on Tuesdays from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at 989 South Main Street, Room D106. The cost is $75.

    The 411 on essential oils will be held on Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m.at 989 South Main Street, room C112. The cost is $35.

    The folklore of your family will be held on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The cost is $35.

Tremonton Campus
*The class will begin Tuesday, Jan. 22, and end Tuesday, Feb. 26. For reservations call Aimee at 435-919-1291 or email her at aimee.brown@usu.edu.

    Essential oils for life will be held on Tuesdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the USU Tremonton Campus , 420 West 600 North, Tremonton. The cost is $35.

Brigham City Fine Arts Center
    Thursday, Jan. 17: Puppet team auditions for ages 12 to 16 years olds will be held at 4 p.m. at the Fine Arts Center. People interested in auditioning can show up. For more information, call the Center.
Saturday, Jan. 19: World of Puppetry Museum will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. A Punch ‘n Judy show will be held at 2 p.m. Both events will be held at the Center.
    After-school classes: Children’s choir and vocal performance, Tuesday, 4-5 p.m.; Elementary theater, Thursday, 4-5 p.m.; Art around the world, Monday, 4-5 p.m.; Youth painting, Thursday, 4-5:30 p.m.; Youth sculpture, Thursday, 4-5:30 p.m.
    Monday, Feb. 4: Style for girls (sixth to ninth grade) will be held every Monday until March 25, from 4 to 5:15 p.m. at the Center. The class will focus on teaching girls self-esteem, poise, manners, shopping on a budget, posture and more.
