The Box Elder Community Garden is accepting applications from community members who are interested in having a 4’ x 20’ plot. The cost is $15. Registration must be completed by the end of March.

Volunteers needed for series of Golden Spike events
Volunteers are needed to help with the following events for the Golden Spike Sesquicentennial: Celebration at Promontory Summit, events in Salt Lake City, iconic Meeting of the Trains in Ogden and Box Elder County Parade and Festival. A mandatory volunteer training will be held prior to all events.

Fundraising event set for Destynee
A fundraising event for 19-year-old Destynee who was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma while pregnant, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Yates Red Barn, 5090 N. Hwy. 38, Brigham City. The fundraiser will include a raffle, bingo and food for sale. All proceeds will go to help cover medical expenses.

Tickets available for library week drawings
The Brigham City Library, 26 E. Forest Street, will take part in National Library Week from April 7-13, with prizes that will be awarded throughout the week via a drawing. Free tickets for the drawings will be available on eventbrite.com after 10 a.m. today.

‘Living well with chronic pain’ class set
The class, ‘living well with chronic pain’ will begin its six-week class on Tuesdays from 6 to 8:15 p.m. at the Brigham City Community Center, 24 N. 300 West. The class is open to the public and is free of charge.

Monthly diabetes class set
The Brigham City Community Hospital, 1040 Medical Drive, will hold its monthly diabetes class at 4 and 7 p.m. in the cardiac rehab education room. The class is free to attend and open to the public. The discussion will focus on “Seeing Popular Diets Through the Lens of Diabetes.” Dianne Curtis, RN, will conduct the discussion.

Brigham City Fine Arts Center
March 22: Preschool music time will be held at 9:30 a.m. The program is open to preschoolers ages 2-5 years old and must be accompanied by an adult. It will include stories, songs and a craft. Donations of $1-$2 are recommended.
March 28: The art-tell youth art contest entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. The contest allows children in grades kindergarten to ninth grade to pick a story and create a picture that could be used in a book. March 29: The art-tell youth storytelling contest will end with story-time at 4 p.m. Entrants must register before Wednesday, March 27, at bcfineartscenter.org, or contact the Center. For more information, visit the website.
April 4: The annual spring fling themed, “All Aboard” will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and from 1-3 p.m. Children ages 5-13 will be able to participate in a puppet show, crafts, stories, etc. The cost is $3 per student or $8 per family. Pre-registration can be completed on their website.
