Diabetes monthly discussion set The Brigham City Community Hospital will hold its monthly diabetes discussion class at 4 and 7 p.m. in the hospital’s cardiac rehab education room, 950 Medical Drive. The class will be a support group meeting and will focus on answering questions participants have. It is free and open to the public. For more information, call Dianne at 435-734-4339. Saturday, June 1 Burgers and burnouts for Deputy Bronson A burgers and burnouts fundraiser will be held in honor of Deputy Kelton Bronson who recently received a donor liver, at 6 p.m. at 340 W. Main Street, Tremonton. The event will also include a raffle, type one racing, zoo crew and a car show. Vinyl clings will be available for purchase. All proceeds will go to the Bronson family. Thursday, June 6 Brigham City Aggie Alumni chapter meeting set Utah State University – Brigham City will host an Aggie Alumni information meeting at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the USU Brigham City campus, 989 S. Main Street. Aggie ice cream bars will be provided. ‘Growing, Harvesting, Preserving and Cooking with Herbs’ class set The class ‘Growing, Harvesting, Preserving and Cooking with Herbs’ will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in room 166 at Utah State University Extension’s Milton Miller building, 195 W. 1100 South, Brigham City. The cost is $7 and includes samples of herb recipes to taste, an herb plant, a recipe booklet and a sample of salt free herb mix to use in recipes. USU hosts star party Utah State University – Brigham City will host a star gazing party at 8:30 p.m. at the campus, 989 S. Main Street. Telescopes and information will be provided by the Cache Valley Astronomical Society. The event is free and open to the public. Saturday, June 8 Future police cadet benefit run/walk set A future police cadet benefit run will begin at 8 a.m. at 130 N. Main Street, Mantua. The cost is $27 to register online; $25 to pay with cash at IMT Companies, 816 N. Main Street, Brigham City; or registration will be available the day of. A T-shirt is guaranteed if a person pre-registers. The run is held in memory of the late Austin Taylor, who passed away while attending Weber State University’s police academy. To register, visit atfbenefitrun.org, and/or for more information, visit the Facebook page ‘ATF Benefit Run.’ Bike contest and parade set for grades K-5th The Brigham City Trails Task Force will host a bike parade at 10 a.m. on the east side of Box Elder Middle School, 18 S. 500 East, Brigham City. Participants are encouraged to decorate their bike for the parade. Winners of the bike decorating contest will be announced at 11:45 a.m. at the Arts Festival stage, 20 N. Main Street, Brigham City. Cash prizes will be given. The event is free and is for children in kindergarten through 5thgrade. All bikers must wear helmets and be accompanied by an adult. Supporting local businesses at Tremont Fest The Tremont Fest will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Midland Square, 75 W. Main Street. The event will include local vendors, food trucks and live music. Brigham City Fine Arts Center June 1: The World of Puppetry Museum will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. with a Punch n’ Judy show at 2 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are accepted. June 6-10: The Gandy Dancers musical performance based on the Golden Spike Centennial will be held on Thurs., June 6; Fri., June 7; Sat., June 8; and Mon., June 10; with performances at 7:30 p.m. each night and a matinee on Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $6 per adult and $5 per student and are available online at bcfineartscenter.org. Summer camps: Registration for summer camps is now open. Camps are 4 – 5 days a week. Family discounts and scholarships are available for those with financial needs. To register, visit bcfineartscenter.org. Style smart is a four-day workshop for girls ages 12 to 16 that will be held from Monday, June 10 to Friday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $30. Girls will learn shopping on a budget, the best clothing for your body type, dressing for success, how to be prepared for job interviews and social and business etiquette.
