‘Expressions of Healing’ group set The New Hope Crisis Center holds ‘Expressions of Healing’ support group every Wednesday at 4 p.m. for survivors of sexual assault or abuse of any kind. The group is held at the crisis center, 435 E. 700 South, Brigham City. It is free and open to the public. To reserve a spot, call 435-723-5600. Historic depot re-opens for the year The Historic Brigham City Depot, 833 W. Forest Street, has reopened for the year. Wednesday, May 8 Dementia support group set A dementia support group will be held at the Brigham City Senior Center, 24 N. 300 West, Brigham City, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The support group educates participants about dementia and helps to develop methods and skills to solve problems. The group also encourages caregivers to maintain their own health. Grief relief support group set Gillies Funeral Chapel hosts a grief relief support group that talks about the loss of loved ones. Held at The Gables of Brigham City Assisted Living and Memory Care, 997 S. 800 West, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The group is free and is open to the public. Thursday, May 9 Women’s Club sets work day The Brigham City Women’s Club will meet from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room at the Bunderson Center, 641 E. 200 North, Brigham City. Members will participate in three service projects that will include assembling kits for girls in third world countries; pillowcases (members are encouraged to bring colorful fabrics and scissors); and assembly of burp cloth and book packets. Brigham City Homemaker’s set to meet The Brigham City Homemaker’s group will meet at 12:30 pm. at Gillespie Hall, 122 East 300 South, Brigham City. The meeting will focus on “My Favorite Things,” where members will share their favorite recommendations. Babysitting will be available for $2 per child and guests are welcome to attend for $2. Box Elder County Landlord Association sets monthly meeting The Box Elder County Landlord Association will hold its monthly meeting in the basement of the Davis and Bott building, 50 W. Forest Street, Brigham City, at 7 p.m. The meeting will focus on training landlords on abandoned property. Friday – Saturday, May 10 – 11 Monster truck tour to be held in Tremonton The Monster Truck Insanity tour will be held at the Box Elder County Fairgrounds, 320 N. 1000 West, Tremonton, at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Saturday, May 11 Family-friendly touch-a-truck event set Tremonton City Fire Department will host touch-a-truck from 12 to 5 p.m. at the Box Elder County Fairgrounds, 320 N. 1000 West, Tremonton. The family-friendly event is free with a canned goods donation for the food pantry. The touch-a-truck event will be hands-on and will allow people to explore large equipment such as trucks, tractors, helicopters, etc. Car seat safety checks will be conducted on site. Monday, May 13 Daughters of Utah Pioneers set closing social The Daughters of Utah Pioneers Locust Camp will hold their closing social at 650 Anderson Drive, Brigham City, at 10 a.m. Members of the camp will take a field trip and have lunch in Ogden. Wednesday, May 15 Shred truck coming to town The Shred truck will be in the Senior Center parking lot, 24 N. 300 West, Brigham City, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for the public to shred papers that contain confidential information, free of charge. Health and fitness day set at Senior Center The Brigham City Senior Center will host health and fitness day at the center, 24 N. 300 West, Brigham City, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is free, but a $3 donation is encouraged. The event will include a mini-health screening and educationalgames.The guest speaker is Karen Rodriguez, a social entrepreneur who was featured on season two of Netflix’s “The Kindness Diaries.” Participants will also have an opportunity to participate in planting flowers in a pot. Saturday, May 18 Relay for Life scheduled The American Cancer Society will host Relay for Life at Rees Pioneer Park, 800 W. Forest Street, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Relay for Life car show scheduled The Scott Hales Memorial Relay for Life car show will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rees Pioneer Park, 800 W. Forest Street, Brigham City. Scott Hales passed away from Leukemia, this car show will be held in his honor. Those who would like to show a vehicle may come on the day of the event, no pre-registration is required, all are welcome. There will be prizes and trophies.
