Letters to the Editor(must be received Friday by 5 p.m.) The Box Elder News Journal welcomes letters to the editor under the following policies and restrictions: Letters must be signed with the writer’s first and last name and include their address, telephone number and email address for the editor’s information. Only names and cities will be published in the newspaper. Letters will not be published without this information. Letters should be 500 words or less. Letters exceeding 500 words will not be published, with no exceptions. The News Journal reserves the right to edit letters for any reasons deemed appropriate, including, but not limited to: clarity, taste, grammar and space.
There is a limit of two letters per month from any one contributor.
Letters endorsing or criticizing political candidates will not be published in the two weeks prior to any election.
We reserve the right to reject any letters we feel are defamatory.
We will not accept letters from incarcerated persons or publish poetry.
